Steven Albiani is the Managing Partner of Stratum Advisory Group Inc. a boutique tax and insurance planning firm. Steven is an honour graduate with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the Queen’s University Smith School of Business, is a Certified Financial Planner and holds a certificate from the Family Firm Institute as a Family Business Advisor. Steven holds board positions on a number of private companies, as well as a volunteer on the Sickkids Foundation Professional Advisory Board. He was formerly on the Queen’s School of Business Advisory Board, the Family Firm Institute Toronto Chapter, and Queen’s Business Club Toronto Chapter. He has been a guest instructor at both the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management and Queen’s University. Having grown up in an entrepreneurial family, Steven has first hand knowledge of all matters related to intergenerational wealth accumulation and protection. Steven is married to Paula and they have four children Carter, Devyn, Scarlet, and Reese.
An honours graduate of the University of Waterloo, Bill has provided wealth management counsel, products and services to successful business professionals for over forty years. His extensive knowledge of the financial services industry, including insurance, investment planning and group benefit matters, was acquired at London Life, The Wealth and Estate Planning Group, and as founder and President of Blue Print Wealth and Estate Inc. and William M. Poole Financial. Bill has been an active representative of a number of industry boards and committees, is a member of the Conference of Advanced Life Underwriters, a contributing author to numerous industry relevant journals and a respected industry speaker. Bill sits on the board of Big Brothers Toronto, is former Chair of Maple Grove Church, and an active participant in alumni affairs at Waterloo University.
An academic All-Canadian from Acadia University, Matthew has an extensive background in implementing tax efficient wealth protection and intergenerational wealth transfer solutions for affluent families. His experience provides him with an in-depth knowledge of the investment, risk management and estate planning process, as well as a broad understanding of the issues related to personal finances and financial planning. Matthew has a background as an accountant with a national accounting firm where he worked with owners of prominent private businesses across Canada. His approach to the clients’ financial well-being serves him well in the administration of wealth planning for entrepreneurs and their families, physicians, senior executives and professional athletes. Matthew holds the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation.
John graduated from The University of Toronto as a Specialist in Finance with a Major in Economics. Upon graduation he secured a position with CIBC World Markets as an IIROC/IDA licensed adviser, advising on individual equities, bonds, pooled funds and mutual funds. In 2003 John joined The Great-West Life Assurance Company as Manager, Retirement Investment Services (Hamilton/ Burlington). In 2005, he was promoted to Regional Manager of the same division in Toronto and headed up investment distribution for the GTA. While Toronto Manager, John received the company’s Award of Distinction (2006), Manager of the year citation (2007), and Conference Award (2008). That same year, John graduated to Senior Investment Consultant and worked exclusively with the company’s high net worth Clients in the GTA.
Graduating with a B.A from Williams College in Massachusetts, Ryan has over 21 years of experience in the financial services and insurance industry. His experience working at two of North America’s largest Life and Health Insurers, and one of Canada’s largest banks has provided Ryan with the knowledge and expertise required to help families and individuals navigate their wealth and insurance needs. Ryan’s insight into individual executive benefit programs and employee health plans, has customized his approach to provide the most beneficial solutions for each individual client.
A ten-year financial services professional and project management specialist Diana is responsible for coordinating the activities of all team members involved in the correct and timely servicing of client projects. Whether the matter to be addressed is complex or simple, Diana’s approach is single minded; do what’s best for the client, do it right, and do it on time.
An Academic-All Canadian graduate from McGill University, Paula broadened her credentials by successfully completing the MBA Essentials for Managers course at the Rotman School of Management, and by acquiring an Ontario Real Estate license. Her enviable knowledge of the financial services industry and its executive was acquired working in a Business Development and Recruitment role at a leading executive recruitment firm based in Toronto, as well as time spent as the Manager of Recruitment and Business Development at the Rotman School of Management, Women’s Initiative. Paula is also part of the McGill Women, Leadership and Philanthropy Board, and spends time volunteering her time coaching girls hockey.
Rob has held multiple roles as a finance and consulting professional and now assists Stratum with detailed client modelling. With more than 5 years of professional experience in strategy consulting (KPMG), corporate finance (Bell Canada) and investment management (Artemis Investment Management), Rob has assisted individuals, businesses and governments with gaining a deep understanding of the financial impacts of the various options available at key decisionmaking junctures. His work experience has included advising upon approximately $200M of client assets, assisting a provincial government with finding multiple ways of saving $180M of annual costs in a $1.6B budget, and leading business case development on a $300M telecom deal. Rob’s education includes the CFA charter and a Master of Finance from Queen’s Smith School of Business.
After completing a PhD in Experimental Condensed Matter at the University of Toronto, Andreea started working in financial consulting, assisting various companies and clients with making financial decisions based on quantitative fact. At Stratum she brings her extensive expertise in building data analysis tools and her solid problem solving abilities involving complex systems. This allows her apply customized solutions to solve client planning with the most optimal outcomes.
