[email protected]Steven Albiani is the Managing Partner of Stratum Advisory Group Inc. a boutique tax and insurance planning firm. Steven is an honour graduate with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the Queen’s University Smith School of Business, is a Certified Financial Planner and holds a certificate from the Family Firm Institute as a Family Business Advisor. Steven holds board positions on a number of private companies, as well as a volunteer on the SickKids Foundation Professional Advisory Board. He was formerly on the Queen’s School of Business Advisory Board, the Family Firm Institute Toronto Chapter, and Queen’s Business Club Toronto Chapter. He has been a guest instructor at both the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management and Queen’s University. Having grown up in an entrepreneurial family, Steven has first hand knowledge of all matters related to intergenerational wealth accumulation and protection. Steven is married to Paula and they have four children Carter, Devyn, Scarlet, and Reese.

His experience provides him with an in-depth knowledge of the investment, risk management and estate planning process, as well as a broad understanding of the issues related to personal finances and financial planning. Matthew has a background as an accountant with a national accounting firm where he worked with owners of prominent private businesses across Canada. His approach to the clients’ financial well-being serves him well in the administration of wealth planning for entrepreneurs and their families, physicians, senior executives and professional athletes. Matthew holds the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation.

[email protected]John graduated from The University of Toronto as a Specialist in Finance with a Major in Economics. Upon graduation he secured a position with CIBC World Markets as an IIROC/IDA licensed adviser, advising on individual equities, bonds, pooled funds and mutual funds. In 2003 John joined The Great-West Life Assurance Company as Manager, Retirement Investment Services (Hamilton/ Burlington). In 2005, he was promoted to Regional Manager of the same division in Toronto and headed up investment distribution for the GTA. While Toronto Manager, John received the company’s Award of Distinction (2006), Manager of the year citation (2007), and Conference Award (2008). That same year, John graduated to Senior Investment Consultant and worked exclusively with the company’s high-net-worth Clients in the GTA.

Ryan’s insight into individual executive benefit programs and employee health plans, has customized his approach to provide the most beneficial solutions for each individual client.

Her enviable knowledge of the financial services industry and its executive was acquired working in a Business Development and Recruitment role at a leading executive recruitment firm based in Toronto, as well as time spent as the Manager of Recruitment and Business Development at the Rotman School of Management, Women’s Initiative. Paula is also part of the McGill Women, Leadership and Philanthropy Board, and spends time volunteering her time coaching girls hockey.

Riza joins Stratum with 10+ years of experience in the Professional Client Services Industry, including working for Accenture, a Global Management Consulting Company. Her primary focus was helping clients achieve operational effectiveness that improved the customer experience on a range of projects with high profile clients across North America. Riza’s experience covered all aspects of the project life cycle, from proposal to development and delivery. In addition to client service, in her professional career, Riza has been extensively involved in people, coaching and recruiting. At Accenture, she was one of 4 Women’s Networking Leads for Canada, a career counselor, and a new hire orientation facilitator. Being connected within her community is very important to Riza and she has had a range of volunteer roles including: Dress for Success – Program Coordinator for the Professional Women’s Group; Vice President of the Parent’s Association at her daughter’s school and Volunteer Coordinator for her son’s school.

CFA, MFinRob has held multiple roles as a finance and consulting professional and now assists Stratum with detailed client modelling. With more than 5 years of professional experience in strategy consulting (KPMG), corporate finance (Bell Canada) and investment management (Artemis Investment Management), Rob has assisted individuals, businesses and governments with gaining a deep understanding of the financial impacts of the various options available at key decisionmaking junctures. His work experience has included advising upon approximately $200M of client assets, assisting a provincial government with finding multiple ways of saving $180M of annual costs in a $1.6B budget, and leading business case development on a $300M telecom deal. Rob’s education includes the CFA charter and a Master of Finance from Queen’s Smith School of Business.
